Hi, I made some songs and now I would like to record them on to my computer. I'am only using one guitar and vocals but would like to add some drums. I'v heard about Cubase and some cind of drum plugin but there seems to be som many diffrent versions. Can anyone recommend a Cubase version? David
look at the other thread "music software once and for all" i get a bit irate at some points in it as i am a devoted cubase user, i recommend 5 as i have used it for 6 years, others recommend sx, but i say...it really doesnt matter, its a sequencer. fat boy slim claims that he still records all his music on his atari st with a VERY old cubase. Im not sure how much real truth there is in that (what im trying to say is dont believe everything you read) but i can see how it can be done having had the st cubase myself.

anyway...for me its cubase 5 or 3.5 (more 5 tho)

There are tons of good programs for recording. I would NOT spend the $700+ on Cubase SX just for that. Perhaps Cubase SL, or something like Cakewalk Home Studio, or even a combination of a free audio editor and a sequencer like FLStudio.
zircon is right,

dont go blowing tons of money on software if it is not your foremost interest. as i say this 15000 to spend on a pro tools set up seems like nothing considering the power it produces (im slowly warming towards this pro tool lark.)

download some free cubase trials. contact me on my website http://www.fullf1.com, go to the forums place a post in one of the the topics and ill get back to helping you

with 700+, u can add 300$ and u can go buy an ibook and use garageband, that's the coolest audio software outthere (for an hobbyiest like me, that is)

Garageband is cool, but it's somewhat limiting, even for hobbyists.
