I am considering on making a game under a $0 budget... one of those spare time rigs... I got a good knowledge of openGL and will be coding it under Linux... my artist uses a Mac (I think a real fancy one ) and has various 3d modeling stuff... he plans on using Maya, and now my concern: what kind of plugins are out there for exporting model formats for Maya and also since the Macs are big-ednian machines how much pain do I have to go through to read in the files on my PC? would I have to write the code to swap byte order all the time? does MAYA have a "text"-ish file ouptut options? Best Regards P.S. was not too sure if the wsa the best forum to ask, but it is my best guess.
Close this Gamedev account, I have outgrown Gamedev.
Maya (6 at least) has a text output format for their scene files.. hum, havn't bothered to look at one yet though so not a clue what they look like.

Fwiw.
