Adobe Illustrator question

Let''s say you lay down three anchor points in the shape of a V with a large enough stroke My problem is that sometimes (on smaller angles) the tip of the V ends in a flat line (see right image) though I want it to converge on a point like on the left V. Is there a way to fix this? By the way, I understand that on very small angles the point would get quite long but I''d like a little more leeway, if possible in a setting somewhere.
I know there is a setting somewhere, because I''ve used it. You can set it to flat, point, or rounded. Unfortunately, it has been years since I used Illustrator, and I don''t have my own copy, so I don''t know where you change this setting.

Thanks! Though you didn''t directly answer my question because you said it''s possible I hunted through the program for it and found the answer. For anyone that may care, here''s how:

1. Make sure the Stroke window is showing

2. Make sure Options of that window is showing (if not, click the triangle on that window and Show Options)

3. Select the anchor point you''d like to adjust with the Direct Selection Tool (white arrow icon)

4. Press one of the Join: buttons in the Stoke Options window

Bevel Join does a blunt end
Round Join does a round end
Miter Join does either a pointed end or a blunt end depending on what your angle is and how high the Miter Limit is. The smaller the angle between your top two anchor points the higher the Miter Limit must be to produce a pointed end.

Thanks again!
