Game Idea
Think of it: Dragon Flight Simulator.
But not JUST a Dragon Flight Simulator, you could also walk on the ground, and several different species would be available like Humans, Avian (sortof like dragons, but they are birds), and of course the Dragons. You could walk around on the ground like any other 3rd peson game, but you jump with spacebar, and if you ouble jump you start flying (except for humans and NON flight dragons, which need vehicles), and to keep flying you need to press the spacebar, or you could just glide.
PS. I will do my other idea later, this is like a warm-up project for me, and I like it a lot. I have several ideas in my head right now.
I'm not sure how well Flight Simulator sold, but if it did sell it was to older men who were hobbist pilots and couldn't fly air planes anymore because their vision was too poor. (Not to diss those men, because they're respectable, nor to diss the game, because - for what it was - it was very good.)
But Flight Simulator was very, very, very boring. You just flew and stayed on course, and if you were *very* good you could fly little manuevers...but most likely you'd just stall out and crash if you did anything other than be careful. So other than the sheer element of controlling an airplane, the appeal was watching the massive-scope scenery go by.
If this is going to be be *only* a "flight sim", the graphics would have to be beyond leading-edge. (Like VR.) **Maybe** that would appeal to someone. But I don't know, man.
I don't want to burst your bubble, but I think this sounds more like a demo than a game. I could be wrong though. Maybe what flight sim enthusiasts have been waiting for is a good dragon-flight simulator.

MS Flight Simulator is popular with pilots and anyone else with a serious interest in flying. It is not really a game at all - it is a simulation, and a pretty accurate one at that, enabling you to fly a large number of different commercial aeroplanes with accurate control layouts and in flight behaviour. It''s also very much a niche product, that is successful due to it''s applicability to real life flying.
I don''t really see a fantasy version having the same success, because learning to fly a dragon is completely useless. You''d expand on the ''game'' aspects to make it something more than just a short lived toy.

Okay, maybe "flight simulator" was the wrong phrase. What I MEAN is a fantasy battle game, where most of it takes place in the sky. Its more like a dogfighting game.
Definitely the wrong phrase. Definitely.
EDIT: what do you think now that I have clarified it? Same thing? I don't think so.

Indeed, Dragonflight sounds like a good game. There have been several fantasy novels with that sort of theme; if you need inspiration, go read Turtledove''s Darkness series (which, admittedly, sucks otherwise) for the aerial combats.
To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.
have you played starfox for gamecube ?
I am also working on a board game that deals with dragons and humans but the dragons are the leaders while the humans are the slaves aslo this is on the planet while above the planet in outerspace it will deal with the future where the dragons have been advanced for hundreds of years but for some odd reason the two had some how connected togther at the same time frame.
on the planet there are no spells whats so ever it all deals with herbs and spices for healing and in space it deals with advanced medicine technology. so it will be interesting to write about and whit very many characteristics to choose from and make teams from.
