What would be the best game engine if i wanted to make a game like GTA 1 or 2??

if making your own engine seems too hard, what about modding gta1/2 ?. i know there are a couple of level editors and tools for missions, cars etc. around the net, try searching some fansites like gouranga.com ..

i want to create my own game..........im just looking for an rpg engine that i can do stuff like GTA.any1 know 1?

If you need some the style you most likely are going to need to code it your-self of for someone who will.
