Hi, I''m trying to put together ideas for a strategy game. I''m wondering what kind of game you would like to see, any ideas at all, be as detailed as you want, if you have some idea you''d like to see, let me know thanks
Ok, here it goes ... the player is about to do something highly illegal, like robbing a bank or assassinating some person.
The action itself is never carried out by the player (maybe it could be shown, though, like a movie), but rather planned in detail. Meaning you have a map or whatever and you define times when the acting person later on should do what ... like ... wait 30 seconds, then sprint to the end of the corridor, lock-pick the door, get inside, sneak up to a security guard (which should be patroulling there by that point of time), knock him out, proceed to the safe ... and so on.
If I remember properly there already exists such a game, but unfortunately the title seems to be lost somewhere in my head.

Well, not that detailled, as you can see, but that''s the first thing that came into my mind when I read your post ... would be a pretty cool game, if done properly, I bet!

Something like MOO3, but like, better. I suppose I could always go and play the first two MOOs, I''ve heard good things ''bout ''em. But I want perfection, and neither of them would probably be perfect. But I''m sure you can do it!

I''m quite interested in the notion of an RTS AD&D game. Instead of controlling a party of six players, you control an army of hundreds of monsters. The monsters would fight according to standard AD&D rules (or possibly some minor alterations if it turned out to be necessary to translate the game to this scale). Magic would be performed by your creatures: powerful spells could be performed by a group of creatures casting together (something that appears to be permitted in the AD&D universe, but which appear to be ''special'' spells left to be defined by the DM).

The obvious name for a game of this variety is Bloodwars, but I wouldn''t want to limit it to evil creatures.

After reading through the Christian thread, the idea of an Angels vs. Demons RTS is starting to grow on me. Besides the various awesome possibilities for superpowers and maps, the pure dichotomy could make for some really entertaining gameplay.

Resources could be people, and you have to do your best to set them up to become soldiers after their death, and then get them killed, so they'll join your ranks. Soldiers can be upgraded or specialized after they're "recruited", or they could be "prepared" for a special role in life. Have a Seminary that produces Cherubim, a Basilica that will give you a Seraphim every few years, or a pool hall that produces imps.

It would naturally be highly blasphemous, but I doubt that will be much of a stumbling block.

What I'd really like to see would be a two-level battle. Two maps, one superimposed over the other, would be the battlefield. One would be the astral plane where angels and demons hack at each other with various implements of doom, and the other would be an Earthly city. As angels advance across the cosmic battlefield, "occupied" territory would be improved on Earth. Neighborhoods would get cleaned up, schools would improve, and PBS would be donated to. When the tide turns and demons get the upper hand, community centers would be abandoned, vandalized and turned into crack houses.

This system will cause a problem of momentum, where a slight advantage will snowball into a rout, but I'm sure clever design could balance this.

Edit: Indeterminatus, your idea reminds me of Rainbow Six on "Full Watch" mode. I always got a little swell of pride when I made a plan that achieved all the objectives without anyone on my team getting hurt. Rogue Spear had it too.
