Hi all, My partner and I have been hard at work looking at different things with developing a new gaming site offering both turnkey and free games (blackjack, poker, spades, backgammon, cribbage, etc.). The name will be Playersvillage.net when the site exists although if you go there now there is nothing there. Let me explain a little bit of the situation. I was the Head Tournament Director at another site that was attempting to start and he was general manager. The millionaire CEO let both of us go and we are striking out on our own. Both of us also have about 5-7 years experience working at MSN at the Gaming Zone so we are pullin things together. Some weaknesses exist though with him and I and we would really appreciate help with the following items: HTML Programming DirectX Multiplayer and newtwork programming Java Thanks, IROC

I find this post interesting. At first, this post may sound like an attack, but stay calm...

You refer to your ex-boss as ''millionaire CEO''. This pretty much means you did not understand your role as ''employee'', nor respect his position. When people strike out against someone on the basis of statis, it makes me believe there is a grudge or ignorance with you. He/She was paying you. Put another way, you were living off of them. I don''t really think you are ready for the CEO position, which sounds like you are after.

your requirements lead me to believe you are looking for a development team to ''fund''. Possibly ''direct'', but not ''lead'' since you do not understand the technology.

Tournament Director. Does this mean you were in charge of products, or in charge of events withen the product''s realm?

Ideas are a dime a dozen. A simple idea can make a wealthy company if it has a great director that pushes everyone forward. Why would I want to use my energy making your dream come true?

Let me explain the situation at the previous company 1st of all. As Tournament Directors (responsible for dday to day operation), Publicity people, General Manager (which my partner was) we were all brought on to oversee the site and run it. We spent two years dedicated working for nothing while I saw the company putting out millions into a product that didn''t exist because they were awaiting beta software. I never saw a dime or the software to this day.

I guess you are right I am looking to develop a team as I know that a team will be necessary in order to get this off the ground. Ron is an expert at international (off-shore) and the people will be put in place from a personnel standpoint easily enough we near open, but as I discussed with Running Wolf last night I can''t program my way out of a paper sack which is why I came here.

A little background on both of us just so you know we aren''t "people off the street". Ron has worked in the industry for well over 10 years including as Community manager for the MSN Gaming Zone for several years and helping many othercompanies such as ours. My personal background is limited to a degree in Public Relations from SUU and sevral years in the private sector.
