using Multimedia fusion and the like
Hi,
This is my first post on this board and with it I would like to ask if many start up companies use multimedia fusion and programs like it to help with development. I am starting up a little company and during one of our meetings this subject got brought up. The idea that our development time would be cut short so we would have more time to deal with other issues seemed golden. Is this too good to be true?
"On this subject I do not wish to think, or speak, or write with moderation .....Tell a man whose house is on fire to give a moderate alarm; tell him to moderately rescue his wife from the hands of a ravisher.....but urge me not to use moderation in a cause like the present.....I will not retreat a single inch----AND I WILL BE HEARD."

You only gave us a moderate amount of information. Multimedia fusion might be ideal for your needs or totally worthless but as you didn''t tell us what you intend to make, how you intend to sell it or what your available development resources are it is impossible for us to give you any useful feedback.
The more detail you give us the better the answers you will get back.

Thanks for the reply. Let me clarify myself. I am asking if "many" teams regardless of software type are using multimedia fusion for "any" of their projects. I ask this question in order to get a general answer about other companies.
To answer your question without writting my whole business plan out, our first milestone is to make a simple 2d arcade game and sell it on our website. We have many part timers and about three full time staff 1 programmer 1 artist and 1 lawyer. Thanks again for helping me out. Peace

quote:OK that''s the baby we want. The web is less technically snobbish than, for example, retail game publishing. Big budget retail games are expected to have heavy-weight tech behind them but web based games (even if for download) don''t have the same requirement.

..... and sell it on our website.....
The only potential problem is that the package may be quicker & easier to develop with because it is limited and may not do everything you require. If your team have evaluated it and confirmed that it does all you need then go ahead.
Good luck and have fun

Thanks again Obscure,
I have went ahead and purchased it. To see if it will be a good fit for us. It was a 100 dollar write off anyway.
Peace
