Hey there, i have a small game team which we plan on creating a game. The only issue i have is that i am not sure how i can have multiple users. Do other people who use servers use winsock? or directx play? or something else? And how do they handle more than 1 user. Examples would be helpful, as well as meaningful descriptions about them. For a MMORPG you definitly want to use winsock and not DirectPlay.
Take a a look at the winsock articles on gamedev.

Some of them will teach you how to have multi users, but a MMORPG is far more complicated than a simple multi user server

I deleted the offending post and put one person on provisional status. We're not going to have stuff like that here...you want to make inflammatory posts of any kind, you take it somewhere else.

I think it takes a real coward of a person to post something like that and not even put their real name.
