what about coolege linux?

Im downloading gollege linux and i was wondering if its good for a noob? thanks in advance.

I believe college linux is a slackware based system. It''s a bit more "user friendly" in that regard. New to linux in general, it will be a bit steeper for you to learn than need be but in the long term you''ll be better off for it. Of course to qualify that statement it depends on what you want to get out of linux.

Flavors of linux (Not comprehensive but you get the point):
Major User Friendly Distros (Mandrake, SuSE, etc) - For people that hate windows
Slackware, Debian, LFS, Gentoo - For people that like linux
*BSD - For people that like unix

As an aside the most important tip I can possibly give you in running linux: Find out what inittab is. Once linux (the kernel) has booted it is the mother of all creation for linux (the OS)

College linux is pretty good. My only beef with it (and all slack-based distros in general) is that the package management is not very good.
