I''m making an Action/RPG. This requires extreme attention to detail. In order to make AI that works, I am studying human behavior, and how it adapts. I am wondering about how you feel, and how I could make my AI real, and learned.
If it is for NPC''s then, NPCAI!...

Shameless plug eh?

I''ve taken a look at that forum and here''s my summary (both for those who haven''t read it and for those who have to correct me ):

NPCs are driven by a prioritized schedule. These priorities are based on predefined schedules as well as ''sensory input'' from the environment and interaction with other entities. The NPCs are also driven by needs (food, sleep, etc.) that affect the priorities of the schedule items.

The adaptation you''re looking for is in the environmental influence. If it''s raining, seek shelter. If it looks like rain, cancel picnic.

That would pretty much sum it up... Unfortunately, nobody has been posting of late... Come back Altmann, come back Ingenu!

I''m back :o)

Was off because I was called by the french army to see if I must be incorporated (?) this is I must spend a year learning military skills or not.

And then yesterday, my father had a brain attack, which make him lost the control pf his left arm.
Fortunately, he''s recovering partialy his control, and my uncle who is proficient in japanese medecine (acuponcture and Chiatsu) think he can make him recover 100% control, as if he never lost anything :o)

pax : You''re summary is perfect, I''ll post it on the NPCAI group :o)

Yay! I was hoping that someone with a BETTER understanding of our pet project would come back to keep it alive... I have been preoccupied with my Learning Experience instead, so the list has kind of slowed recently. Hope you provoke some thought inspiring replies
