I am not actually going to even think about this game, until i finish my cel-shaded soccer game that me and my team are building, this is a game design place for ideas, not a job advertising place, so that is why it isnt in a proper design doc. I do not think this could ever be sold to a comercial company, but it would be really enjoying to make. Well thanks for all the "encouragement", but i think it would make a good book aswell. If you want to see how my cel-shaded soccer game is going along, my forum has most of the answers. Thanks:

Well, to be frank, if your game is "revolutionary" along with having photorealistic graphics, seamless-ai, endless lanscapes, and massive multiplayer support, then I don''t see a reason why it WOULDNT be a commercial success.

On the other hand, I think you might be biting off more than you can chew ... namely with the photo-realistic graphics part (if you knew enough about photorealism, you would also know that you AREN''T going to get it on today''s hardware, especially having huge fight scenes and massive landscapes), and the multiplayer seems to be a bit much.

But please, prove me wrong. I don''t want to be the guy that crushes your dreams, I just am trying to be a bit realistic with you.

Looking at your forum it seems that you are creating your cellshading effect through some inefficent geometry trick rather then really rendering the objects through a pixel shader which would be faster and far more efficient. It may be fast initially but I think your triangle fillrate will catch up with you. But it all depends on the hardware you are targetting. Added benefits from pixel shaders are that it would allow any model that you make to be imported and you don''t have to worry about doing that weird crazy hullaballoo and tomfoolery to your geometry.

The Closest thing i seen to phote realistic graphics or in a engine that turns the bitmaps into lightmap. This i did work with to make a level. So he can prolly come up with phote realistic textures. But when it comes to the models I Dont believe you can. You also said multiplayer game? Well if you were to make a tree you would prolly only be to create the starting cirle or how ever you do it with maybe 6 or 8 sides without lag when you walk by the tree. And textures will have to be like 512. Maybe im wrong and you found a really good engine. But I tried alot and didnt get to far with phote realistic graphics and went i got close i just found lag or glitches. please list your engines?

Hi, do you know any decent engines that support pixshading but dont cost like $10,000

There are no good engines for under $10,000. If software were that cheap, Bill Gates wouldn''t be the richest man in the world. People say "Everyone and his brother is into software now," but its not true. In order to make any decent piece of software, you have to learn a programming language, which is no easy task for many people. Pay out thousands buying developer tools, and offer tech support.

I don''t mean to sound harsh, but you probably need to do your homework on rendering techniqes. You made a bunch of statements about your game without backing them up. The Gamedev.net boards have no lack of kids acting like they know how to make the next DOOM or HL. You might really know what your talking about, in which case I can hardly wait to play your game, but then again, you might be one of those kids I mentioned. Anyway, the best way to gain our trust is screen-shots on a professional looking web-page.

BTW, I did really like your story. It was pretty origional, and it would certainly be a factor if I were considering buying your game.

Best of Luck

Finding a way around these hardware and human resource limitations would be truly revolutionary.
thanks

I think the word you were looking for is "miraculous".
Seriously graphics, AI, max number of player etc are improving all the time. The suggestion is just another step in an ongoing evolution and certainly isn''t revolutionary.
