To my related post: Someone posted a message here recently about having an AI that learns to do things like eat. Where the sorcerer kind of committed suicide destroying all the monsters by accident : ) Then I read another post about an idea on using priority lists in an AI. Such as the priority of sleeping increases through out the day, but decreases during sleep, then adding new priorities with greater importance when he wakes up. I intend to pursue both endeavors. I will make a complex AI. Human mostly, and maybe some animals. They will all exist on an Island. On each side of the island a family will exist, maybe 4 families. The family thing is sort of something to keep them from inbreeding, u will find out l8r. All AI has eyes, ears, nose, legs, hands, etc. They all send information they recieve from the outside world. All of this is processed and effect priorities and also goes into memory. A memory is a structure array that has lists of things to remember such as what he sees, who he saw, what he has said, who talked to him, and what an object is and how it tastes, feels, and smells. Each memory has a priority as well. A priority level of 20 means he will probably remmeber this for a day. The more he comes in contact with an object (everything is considered an object) the more additions are made to the memories priority. The interesting part is that they will all have simple genes and characteristics and looks. (Lets say they wont be wearing leaves but nothing is visible that we can drool over : ) Female humans and male humans will be able to reproduce. They will not attempt to "court/date" unless their family # is different, to prevent inbreeding which I thought would be gross to happen in my world. Animals will do the same, but their only usefulness is food. The plans I have drawn up for this courting and dating ritual seems quite a problem. I will figure something out if it ever happens. Simply put lets just say, Two males and a female will kill male This gets more interesting as my drawn plans increase the use of paper. The good thing about my game is I will make graphics for everything and display all of this in DirectDraw. I will post the executable and maybe the source when it is complete.
