is this possible?
If i know alot of people post annoyinh post about them making games and never actually showing pics of there progress or even giving updates about there game. i was wondering. theres alot of free engines out there for game development. i made plenty of models. (NOT AVATARS) i only made buildings lands boats and ect. im willing to post a pic if i can or create a website showing my pics right now. i just want to know if anyone can help me with an idea or is this just one of those crazy things no one finishes. im looking to create a priston tale type game. ive done alot of work im just not a programmer i tried but i suck math. i tried using Morfit, A6 game studio, 3drad. Blender, 3dimpact, genius engine. idk what the f%@! to do. im prolly just another pc geek with an idea that just cant work unless i had 80 years of collage huh? if anyone can help like with advice or take a look at the models or even can help a bit with some programming it would be cool. thanks!
Sean
programming != math. (when I say math I mean trig/calc, etc.)
So, weather you are good or not at math is little concern.
Most game engines are usually documented pretty good, fwiw.
I think the largest attribute of a programmer is perseverance, not so dissimilar to staring at the same model for a week/month or more.
I''ve heard darkbasic is easy to use.
But yea, we all have ideas. Everyone does. Ya have to do something with your idea.
p.s. Good practice to capatilize your ''i''s when refering to yourself.

Are you drunk? ![](tongue.gif)
Do you know any code? Start out using a graphics library. I can't help much, as I started with 2D. Study the library's documenatation.
If no code knowledge at all, start out with console stuff. Expect to do nothing special but printing out text for a while, until you understand how your language works. There are many excellent tutorials out there that can teach you C/C++ (if that's what you're looking for). You may want to invest in a book after you get started.
If you're not drunk, study your english before moving on to a coding language. You'll need it to read the coding book and to ask questions. Of course the easiest way to study your grammer is to chat with intelligent people, so you're in the right place.
Probably ready to say the hell with programming now, huh? It's worth the effort. You don't need above average intelligence to program, and it's the same creative high you get with modeling / art, but more extreme.
Hope you make it
EDIT - By the way, FeralofFireTop, I doubt "!=" is going to make sense to a non-programmer

*shrug* Perhaps, but it might spark some interest, or reaffirm noninterest. Either way it works

lol maths is boring but i''d hate to not be able to do it(i could do alot better at more advanced stuff but im 2 lazy!.. especially after forgetting how to do calculas
, all that hard work learning it!)
programming is also fun, the main thing about programming is problem solving, creative problem solving at that
...probably helps if you are a bit nuts

Setup a webpage with what you''ve got done and post it... can''t say I think people would be interested unless you are ready to show what you''ve got to contribute.
All above posts are good advice. Showcase your abilities, and set about making a design document. You don''t need math or programming skills for that, although they don''t hurt.
Once you''ve got a better idea of what you want, see if you can attract/draft/find a team with skills complementary to your own, and get them to help. Naturally you''ll have to relinquish some creative control, but who knows? It might turn out better than you ever thought it could.
Good luck with your project, and don''t lose hope. If this is your first idea, it may never see the light of day, but this game''s viability is less important than yours. If you learn something about how games are made, it can contribute to later projects, and will make you a more viable game designer.

I''ll host your pictures temporarily if you''re interested.

Never hesitate to show off your work, and don''t be afraid to tell other people your ideas. Most of the people on this board will gladly offer advice if you ask for it nicely.
Anyway, you don''t have to be a programmer to be an important part of a good game dev team. If you like 3D modeling, then you should join a team as a modeler. If you have an idea you think would make a good game, create some models for it, put them on your web-site, and ask for help in the "Help Wanted" fourm (watch out for trolls tho).
When you post in the "Help Wanted" fourm, be sure you have a nice looking web-site, and some form of a Design Document. Also, make sure to *clearly* explain if people will get paid upfront.
