I would like nothing more to be able to go to digipen for game design and programming..But i was a fuck up in high school and i cant(depressed at the time) I am now fine and ready to do just about anything but my grades have suffered greatly from my past, so i do not believe i could get in. Does anyone know of any other colleges that are just as good as digipen?

Game programming schools are generally frowned upon because all they are good for is game programming (and even some game programming places don''t consider them equivalent to a regular CS degree of the same length).
I would suggest you get a CS degree from any school you can get into and work your way up from there.

Are you serious? I am looking for a school right now. Specifically in game design (level designer). I was looking at Westwood College in Denver. That''s not the best news to hear... So I basically have no chance at getting my dream job now?? Damn it. I don''t want to be just a programmer... I have a more creative side in design, not progamming...

Go two years in a community college and then tranfer to almost any four year school you want to. They''ll only check your grades with that community college and not even look at SAT scores or high school grades (most colleges that is). Then your certificate will say you graduated from that school, saving LOTS of money.

But if you f it up and let your grades slip just a little, then I guess the job will be left for someone qualified to fill.
You can look at Full Sail. They claim that all they need is a high school diploma.

Also if you had a C average or higher in algebra 1 and 2 in high school.

There''s no harm in trying to apply to DigiPen. Any moron can get in here. But it is kind of hard for some people and a lot of them don''t last so long.

I don''t know much about Full Sail, but I *hear* its more of a game "design" program vs. a game "programming" one. DigiPen''s curriculum is pretty heavy on the math and computer graphics aspects of programming.

I would say go to a "regular" college and get a "regular" CS degree. You''ll probably be a better programmer that way.
