Texture formats.

Hello all. I am making a program which will place an video file onto a texture for use in an animated interface. The problem I have is such; I need the video file to contain alpha information(opaque/transparent is perfect). Ideally when I use get Direct show to extract each frame I should end up with a Texture with the texture format A1R5G5B5. The question therefore is; Does anybody know if, within Maya, it is possible to export such an animation, if not is it possible to convert from another format to this when the animation arrives at Direct Show? I have quizzed the animator who is working for me but it appears that he doesnt know his arse from his elbow with respect to texture formats. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
