What do you think about a game base of bad boys 2. Specific chase scenes. Expecialy the one where they are chasing the car hauler and cars are being dropped off. The idea of the game would be differnt scenarios and to move on to the next one you have to get enough points. It would be one of those game where you could move on but you would either get a bronze silver or gold medal. You would gain points for shooting enemies and for doing things like 360''s in your car, flips, barrel rolls. You would lose points for stuff like hitting pedestrians, wrecking your car, and damaging property. It would be a very action packed driving game. But in the form of frogger. Just an idea.
Yeah, sounds cool. It would be pretty cool to see a combination of arcade racing / driving and ramming other cars. With a bit of cinematic flair, ie. having the enemies shoot out other car''s tyres so they spin out. And chucking stuff out of the back of the car oil barrels, crates etc. Having to jump over gaps in the freeway. Taking all the fun parts out of movies and combining them into a kick-ass game.

Car crime in real life is no laughing matter.

Sounds too much like "GTA".

Of course, I also thought the short-lived show "Fastlane" would have made a cool game
You''ve never seen anyone like me, and you''ll never see anyone like me again!
though I think that game in and of itself would kick ass, I''d hate to see it based on the movie. That car chase scene you mentioned was but a fraction of what made up that movie (which was fantastic by the way).

getting the movie license would simply cheapen it since people would be expecting more.

but like I said, make the game you described ... it would kick ass ... I''m so tired of racing simulators, something fresh and imaginative would be a welcome change.

Yea I wasn't really thinking of baseing it of the movie, just a few select scenes from the movie would be perfect scenarios in the game. I was thinking for the game that the physics engine could kind of help you out. Like if the person you chasing is stoped and you turn the wheel and pull the hand brake whether you really would or not (it would have to pritty close) the engine would apply forces to help you out in 360'ing to a stop.

For a two player part it would be fun to have a person hanging out the other window shooting.

As for the its too much like gta. Its not at all like gta. Gta is a never ending (well I think it might end) game. In this game you could get to the end, beat all the scenarios. You could go back and improve your times/points/whatever. But the point of the game would be navigating through different scenarios, I'm not sure if it would even have a roaming "mode".

I like it, but how would you turn it into a coherent video game? It sounds to me like a sort of "worst case scenario driving game". Just you and your car and crazy things happen to you for no apparent reason, or else have the character be some kind of James Bond character who gets attacked by terrorists in hang gliders with thermite on a regular basis.

What other scenarios do you envision? The car hauler is good. A similar level, behind a log truck, could be just as good. Really, anything can fall off of a truck and be awesome. Guys in cars shooting at you would be pretty decent. Lose a point for every bullet that hits your ride, besides the damage you take. Different road types and handling conditions, weather, bridges, broken bridges or other ramp substitutes (I''m against puttion things like ramps and land mines in the middle of the highway for no reason), and any nunber of "don''t kill" types: people, animals, "innocent" cars, etc.

This could be a fun game. I think that the levels should be carefully scripted, so that a player can try the same scene again and again and have the same experience. That makes it easier to play "hotseat" multiplayer, which I think will be a very strong suit for this game. Make each level no more than a minute or so long, so players can swap out and try to beat each other''s score.

A variety of cars, motorcyles, or other things could be available or "unlockable" in the game, and there should definitely be a level editor, like in excitebike, so players can challenge themselves and each other indefinitely.

I think too often people try to put a story behind a fun game, it just ruins it sometimes. You bend it so much to make it fit some plot and its not as fun anymore. Whats the plot behind excitebike? And as for the level scripting the only variation through each run would be the player. Everything would be realistic except for the fact that your driving rediculously fast through ares with people trying to stop you. No mines, no helicopters crashing in front of you. Maybe a big ass boat that falls off a truck in front of you, I'll have to watch the movie again, I know the first time I saw it every scene I was like this would be the sweetest game ever.

That depends. While the show itself was enjoyable, the story was not very good. The pilot is a straight ripoff of Miami Vice''s pilot (black cop visits another city to revenge his brother''s death, gets unmasked as a cop and joins the white cop and stays on his team for the rest of the show). The other episodes were basically all the same, Van falling in love with a female criminal, having a dilemma about what to do but ending up shooting her anyway.
Its failure was a good lesson, fast shiny cars alone are not enough to make a hit.
Bad Boys 2 game for PS2, Xbox and PC (out in a month or so I believe):
