Lightning the terrain
Hi, I have implemented geomipmapping in my terrain engine. In order to avoid the popping effect I want to precalculate the lightning into the texture of the terrain. What do you think? ideas, links.

i dont'' see how that will solve your problem... the popping effect (at least the one i know of) is caused by a change in the LOD of a mesh, not the textures or lighting so much.
Yes Obviously the popping effect is caused by a change in the LOD, but this effect is much bigger due to the reduction of the number of the normals. when I say that the effect is bigger, I want to say that the effect is more visible. If the lightning is always the same, the effect will be seriously reduced, it will be less visible.
