i''m using 3d studio max....i''m learning but getting a bit confuse. how to change the axis? i mean when i open the 3d studio max, initially the z-axis is facing the sky(vertical), but what i want is to interchange the y-axis and the z-axis so that the y-axis will the z-axis(vertical), and the z-axis will become facing towards me. DO NOT CHANGE THE X-AXIS. i have tried to change the object but when it comes to the func like rotation, it does not rotate accordingly to what i want it to be. So, how am i going to do so?

Are you talking about rotating the view port? Or rotating an object? If it''s an object, you can select only the X,Y or Z axi in order to rotate on that specific axis only.

Also, is this the right place for this question?

Before you try and swap the Z and Y axis''s, make sure thats what you really want to do.

Most loaders load in such a way that the Z and Y are swaped anyway. When modeling just treat the viewpoints as they are, top, front, left; ignor the axis''s.

Ignor what i said if your not worried about what i said.
