Sounds cool. Would you recommend Reason 2.5 over fruityloops?
I''ve never used it, and I''m considering whether or not to invest in some new sound software or get something else.
Professional Quality?
Reason is an amazing piece of software.. right now my hardware list is:
Audigy2
4.1 surround system (analog)
Yamaha PSR-225GM Keyboard
Reason 1.5
My current goal for hardware is:
Audigy2
5.1 surround system (digital) <- gonna get tomorrow hopefully
Yamaha PSR-225GM Keyboard
Reason 2.5
ReWire
ReCycle
I''ll get there eventuially :D

Really pretty stuff... couple of suggestions though on longing...
You might want to do a little bit more with the motif you''ve started on the guitar and continued throughout the piece besides just repeating it, or sequencing it it to another couple of scale degrees. An intermittent inversion or something of the like would really add a whole new subtle level of depth to the piece, and it wouldn''t cost anything soundwise.
My only other suggestion is that you use some kind of lead in to some of your darker/more esoteric key (mode? I wasn''t listening well enough) changes. Ending the phrase and simply beginning on a new key sounds a bit forced if you''re not jumping to the third or fifth. Just use one of your harmonizing voices to pass your way up or down to the new key.
Good stuff, you''re well on your way!

using fruity loops, reason, or acid pro does not make you a musician. lets get that clear. using loops is not talent!
man, how do youall make your own samples and put it into a midi? =
don't say cakewalk, -_- I hate using that thing, and you need SoundBlaster soundcard.

Cakewalk is one approach, but you can also use trackers, gigasamplers, VST Instruments, etc.

Hehe, quite true Annoymous Poster, whoever you are, but I''d hope for your sake your not flaming me there - I believe all the instruments I play DO make me a professional musician:
-Guitar: AMEB Grade 6 (thats an Australian qualification)
-Trombone: AMEB Grade 5
-Euphonium: AMEB Grade 5
-Trumpet: AMEB Grade 2
I also play mondolin, bass (either kind), cello, harmonica, banjo, and bowed-guitar (exactly what it sounds like, a guitar with a bow).
And using software to create music is indeed quite a talent, as most of the general population arent capable of it. I''d like to hear some of your music before you post comments like that!

the fist one is missing something. -Like more background stuff.
the second one (longing) is very professionally composed.

The song (longing) is great, but improvements can be made. Once in a while the song seems to halt, and then pick up the theme again. I think you should either do something to make it feel like having a purpose halting, or make some background while picking up the theme. Fx you could play a motif on the piano while the other instruments are handing over the melody line. Anyways this is only a minor thing, and the composition is beyond amateur (I''m not a pro, so I can''t tell if it''s good enough for that).
