go to your usr/src directory
rm -r linux (to get rid of the one you created for the driver install
ln -sf linux
and then it will be a link, so it will be treated just as though you typed /usr/src// instead of /usr/src/linux... as long as you already have your kernel source loaded, of course... otherwise, install that, then start with the nvidia drivers.
NVIDIA driver help on redhat
I did what you said and it made a link to linux but it is broken too. How do you uninstall a kernel-source rpm and install an older one? I wanted to try 2.6 rpm and I think that messed things up, is there a way to go back?
Ok, first off, only load a kernel-source rpm for the version of the kernel you have installed, second, from CLI(from TFM:
quote: rpm {-e|--erase} [--allmatches] [--nodeps] [--noscripts] [--notriggers] [--repackage] [ --test] PACKAGE_NAME ..There is also an rpm manager in RedHat where you can remove and install rpms, and that works as well.
Alright....I finally got the kernel-source all fixed, used Interium''s method:
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run --extract-only
cd NVIDIA* # rest of file name
export IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH=yes
export CC=gcc
make
make install
All went well this time, no errors, it had lots of writing down the screen and none of it said error on it.
Did it out of X in root. Then I updated the XConfig to "nvidia". So it should work, but it is not. I don''t see an NVIDIA splash screen. And I see a NVIDIA-Linux-x86... folder in my /root directory, but I should almost be there since everything is done. Not sure what the problem is now though....

Nevermind, it works, tried Tux Racer and it plays well. I guess I did'nt think it worked because the screen res and refresh rate... It won't let me set it higher than 800x640 and the screen res only goes up to 60hz...
And for some reason when I click System Settings --> Display , nothing comes up at all....I don't think I can set my NVIDIA settings without that...How do you get that to come up?
Thanks for the help guys
