Hi, As you already know I''ve created little bots that exhibit artificial intelligence. I need to know if this AI works? In other words I want to know if the bots are really "smart". Download the program here... http://www.geocities.com/francoissoft/Boc.htm or http://www.geocities.com/francoissoft/Boc.zip P.S. Everything works! FrancoisSoft
i ran it but how are they smart? all they do is go around making random messages apart from when they are eating, and they move towards food, apart from they wonder around aimlessly .

They can program other members of their species. They''re good programmers. I can tell you that but they''re so lazy!

If you want us to tell you if they are "smart", you''re gonna have to define what you mean by "smart" first.

I meant to say "smart on a reptilian level".
think franc means that they are basically dumb, but showing some intelligence.

also about programming others.
How do you mean, the best i could think of was that you had a bunch of options that they combined to make a new one depending on the situation.

still aint that smart
i reakon the best way to show a bit of intelligence is to model real life things.

Like i made this simple path finder that looked pretty stupid. Then one day i was watching my chickens, all babies .
THey were trying to get to the mother inside the cage, but they were outside on the wrong side, so they''d have to go all around the cage to get to the door.

it took them like 10 minutes for all 7 of them to finally get around to the door into the cage.
One would find the way but the one behind it would walk into it as they were in single file, and when it walked into it, it went the opposite direction, then it would run into another one and go the other direction, and finally it would make it around aswell, they also kept trying to walk thru the cage wire(which was similar to my pathfinder)

so basically real life things can be pretty straight forward and be dumb, so its not all hard to model

Ehh... I don''t think they''re too smart... I would compare their intelligence to that of a small animal like a rat or a bee.

No offends, though.

For crying out loud, everyone knows you''re franscoissoft... and besides, you don''t seem to realize that rats have more human-like brains than reptiles. And they have thousands of neurons.
