I’ve been looking around for some good aircraft schematics and scale plans. I’ve been looking for World War I and World War II fight planes and some jets. I’ve found a few sites that have good scale planes and schematics that would be of use to any of you aircraft modelers.

Mostly all the schematics come with templates to aid in the modeling of the aircraft, or at least the ones I’ve downloaded did. I hope this helps some of you guys out. It was hard for me to finally find these schematics. [edited by - sakky on September 11, 2003 2:56:50 AM]

Thanks! I need to find out how to setup backdrops so I can scale them correctly so that I may use them in Light Wave properly. I''ve noticed that Light Wave scales images that I import as backdrops according to the view projection. I want to stop this functionality and make Light Wave keep their original dimensions. When viewing from a top view, the images are scaled down. All the work I do in Photoshop is virtually useless because the images are not kept at their correct dimensions. I don’t know how Light Wave scales image either, and I haven’t found any specific information about this in the product documentation. I have more links that might be useful.

The first link is another Russian site, but the schematics to the aircraft good. I like the schematics of the DC-8 (Passenger Jet) it looks easy to build and fun to play with. There is also a good schematic of a Cessna. The later is an all in one schematics site. I’ve seen this site come up on countless Google searches for World War 1 and World War 2 fighter aircraft. But there is a lot more then just aircraft schematics. There are also cars, boats, helicopters, weapons, tanks, sci-fi and people. I think this site is one of the biggest resources for schematics and white prints (they are not blue).
