My Winsock app interfering with multiplay games
When my Winsock-based client server system is running on networked PC''s, some games refuse to see eachother in the ingame browser''s and cannot connect at all. Even with specific IP''s, but as soon as I close my prog, all is well. Help!!!
Thanks
Chris
Uhhh...
Come on surely you guys aren''t just testing your games stand-alone with no other apps running in the background - could it be a port conflict or what?
I''ve found my apps also struggle to connect if Mirc is running.

Some more info.
My app uses port 6066 (typical) to talk over TCP sockets.
Once the server and multiple clients over LAN are connected, everything runs fine. Warcraft and counterstrike games see eachother fine and can connect while my app is running in the background. But if I close the server, the clients cannot reconnect (If game running) . (They are set to attempt reconnect every 15 seconds if not connected.)
Help!! Warcraft does not use this port as far as I can see.
