UV mapping in Maya
Perhaps one of you guys will be able to answer this simple question. (the maya docs are useless) I want to UV map , say , a cube. Lets say I have a 512^2 texture map. In the UV texture editor, I want to seperate the 6 sides, so I can put them anywhere on the map. there seems to be loads of options like cut UVs, make new UV sets, normalise UVs, sew Uv''s....I am *a little* confused. Can anyone help me here? I dont want to do any complex multi-texturing (yet) , I just want to be able to seperate the faces so I can move them around the map without streching it. thanks in advance for any help i get
I probably should stop, My doctor says I have the wrists of an 80-year old
