The best modeler and program??
Hey, I was wondering what is the best 3D Modeler and Art program for games?? I''m currently using Jasc Paint Shop Pro and Milkshape 3D. Are those good, or are there better??
Those are the best if you are new to graphics and games.. and don''t want to spend a lot of money!
I''ve used Milkshape3D pretty much for my previous FPS game and it''s pretty good for BASIC characters, weapons and buildings. If you intend to continue, there are probably better options like Maya and 3dsmax. And for 2D, photoshop.

Sure there apps out there that are better, but that''s not the issue. The issue is productivity. If you can accomplish evertyhing you need to accomplish with the tools you have, why switch?
If you feel that doing a particular job with your tools seems tedious, then the more expensive tools might be an option to explore.
It would only slow down your long term progress if you have to learn new software.
