I *LOVE* FreeBSD. I actually wrote a review of the FreeBSD 5.1 release which you can find here:
http://students.hightechhigh.org/~jjensen/freebsd.html
I also talk about Red Hat, Mandrake, and Debian and say why I don''t like them. I also mention experiences I''ve had in the past with them.
I havn''t tried Gentoo, it looks pretty cool though. Although FreeBSD 5.1 is super super efficient with your processor, second only to Solaris. However, Solaris is for gimps and should be burned to the ground :D
I would like to solicit some advice... (Q: which linux/bsd?)
Forgot to mention - FreeBSD has NVidia drivers that work great so yes your card will work
OpenGL Revolutions http://students.hightechhigh.org/~jjensen/
ooh sounds promising
I think I''ll see what books on FreeBSD there are at the local bookstore next time I''m in town

If that''s the case, then FreeBSD is the slowest OS ever made, because Solaris is all but fast.
Hope this helps.
