We have a game for PC and we want to port it to the GameBoy platform. Any help or hints regarding the cost structure will be welcomed. How difficult it is to get the SDK and hardware from Nintendo ?
You can follow the official or unofficial routes. The main differences are support and cost.

The official route - become a registered developer by applying to Nintendo see http://warioworld.com/apply/agb.html. It shouldn''t be too hard; I have had several clients approved as official developers over the years. You then get access to the official documentation and can purchase the official dev kit ($10,000). The advantage of this is that Nintendo have some strict guidlines on software development and access to the official information helps you avoid making any mistakes.

The unofficial route - use one of the hobby development systems. Info on these can be found at sites like gbadev.org

Once you have a good version of the game running then you can approach a publisher. Be advised though that few publishers are doing non-license based games for the AGB.
