MSVC incorrectly building
Hi, sorry if this is a little off topic but I don''t really know where to ask this sort of thing and it is because of my OpenGL coding that I noticed it
I''m using MS Visual C++ 6.0 and it appears to have a really annoying bug/feature that means that sometimes VC appears to be waiting for the compiler to end when it actually already has. This happens intermittently and there appears to be no pattern to it, although it is more common if my code contains errors.
The compiler has completed its work as it has no process listed in task manager and the exe is built yet the ''Stop Build'' buttons and menu items simply have no effect. This means that I cannot initiate another build and to close MSVC I have to terminate it''s task from Task Manager.
As you can imagine this gets very frustrating, has anyone else encountered this problem and have an idea how to fix it? I am running WinXP on an Athlon XP 2400 with nothing unusual about my system that I can think of. I have had this problem before and after a complete system reformat and reinstall too, so reinstalling doesn''t help.
Cheers

that sounds like a pretty annoying problem ... I had that problem on an old pent 1 about a year ago ... i think i never fixed it before i accidently blew up the cpu lol

Do you have the latest Visual Studio service pack (SP5)? Also, are you running Norton Antivirus? Norton is notorious for causing problems with Visual Studio.
