renderer
May i know of any free and good renderer out there?
Ancient words of wisdom-You Suck!
Depends on what you mean by renderer. If you mean an API that interfaces with the hardware rendering layer, then you''ve got your choice of OpenGL or Direct3D as the two main ones. Those are, of course, both free and good.
If you mean a ray-tracing renderer for rendering scenes, try something like POVRay (www.povray.org).
If you mean 3D modeller, then I suggest Blender (www.blender.org). It is both free and good, assuming you have the patience for learning a bizarre interface.
If you merely mean a 3D engine to build upon, then I suggest Googling for something like Crystal Space (crystal.sourceforge.net).
Best of luck

In addition to Blender and Povray, my personal favorite is Yafray. Its a neat little ray tracing renderer that integrates quite nicely with Blender (my 3d app of choice). www.yafray.org
Below is an example of what Yafray can do. This model has not been textured.
I'm sure there are others out there.

nice piece yspotua
I''ve just started using Yafray myself.
Do you just use command line or a gui like Bagisas?
I guess I use both, the command line for speed and Bagisas for tweaking the settings.
On a side note, have you tried the new TrueDisplacement script for blender? It''s really cool.

That does look pretty good, yspotua. I haven''t played with Yafray at all; I reckon I''ll check it out.

I haven't been using Yafray that long either. But I use Yable, a Blender plugin for Yafray at http://www.kino3d.com/~yable/.
I hanen't tried Bagius yet, but I plan it in the next couple of weeks. Just to see how it compares with Yable. The screenshots look nice, but it doesn't look like it has anymore functionality than Yable.
Note: The above image is not mine. Its link to an image at the Yafray gallery.
