For those of you who dont want to enter the contest because of models check this site out: http://www.jk2files.com/file.info?ID=6915 you will find a wide variety of models free for download and accessible via milkshape. It would sort of suck if only 8 people entered the contest. Few Questions: -Does any one know where I can find an Ent (or perhaps Isenguard)? -Does any one know how to convert form *.bsp to another format that i can import into milkshape?
Providing it is a quake engine .bsp, you could try http://www.rtcwfiles.com/file.info?ID=1553 to decompile the .bsp to a .map file, and then use the .map importer (there''s either an importer or exporter - I can''t remember which atm) in ms3d (1.66a) to get at the data.

The *.map plugin for ms3d is an exporter

Right. I got *.map of Isenguard, Moria, and Helms deep. How do i get those into milkshape (or at least an importable file format)?

Hi,
Thanks llvllatrix, the link is pretty cool. I definitely could do with a few hundred uruk-hai (^_^)

I currently have an art export path from 3ds MAX via ASE, but am having problems finding good textures ... any links ?

Would it be possible for you to share the .MAP files of Isengard and Helms deep ? Or at least point me over to some links where I can grab something along those lines ?

Thanks and regards,

Thanks, Matrix!
And I think that more people should join the contest... It would be a shame to have so few entrys, now that NeHe has found a sponsor...

I agree llvllatrix it would be sad if only 8 people entered the contest

I dont mind sharing the models. I want to do a bit of editing on them though...The Isenguard map is only a quarter of isenguard. When thats dont i''ll post them, that is after i figure out how to import these maps into milkshape. You can find the maps by searching the same site for Helm. One of the packs contains Helm''s deep, Moria, and Isenguard. The come in bsp format.

Unfortunately, the milkshape plugin is an exporter

I''ve got the map format in the quark native format now. I need to convert it so it can be read into milkshape.
Hey ... llvllatrix. There''s this program called 3D exploration. It seems to convert between pretty much any file format (I think .MAP included maybe u could got BSP->MAP->DXF and MAX), although it might muck up a few things ... u could give that a try.
