Hi all! I am about to start writing my master''s thesis here in Sweden. I have been studying complex and adaptive systems/structures/algorithms this last year and now i am about to do my thesis about the use for these structures in game AI. I have contacted a game studio and they claim that they have ideas and knowledege about how to use them in interesting ways and i believe they do, but i also wanted to know what you guys think is important. Some of my ideas right now are for example having som kind of species in a RTS game for example which have no centralized control and organize themselves and stuff, and perhaps some sort of "particle system" for larger particles like humans and/or animals (almost like flocking but not in a flock if you get that...). I also want to look in to some efficient ways of updating/rendering systems like these.... Anyways, what do you think is interesting and important for this area? thanx --Spencer "Relax, this dragon is sleeping..."
