I''ve long since had this problem. When I record/play a midi file and hit the stop button, my computer freezes and I have to wait three minutes before I can do anything in the program. I am wondering if it''s my Casio keyboard, my soundcard, or the files I use (they are about 2-4 minutes in length). Can anyone help?? If you need more info, just ask. Thanks. What kind of soundcard you running? What Operating System?

I doubt if it will be either the midi files you are running, as they do not take up many resources at all, or the casio keyboard, as it is seperate from your system.

Are you using the casio keyboard for your sounds? If so, what kind of cable are you running from your computer to your keyboard?

In the past, problems like this are usually resolved with your midi drivers being reinstalled. If you have the install disk that came with your soundcard, then it shouldnt be a problem.

Sometimes the problem is fixed by just making the cable is plugged into the computer properly. I once had a support call to deal with a midi problem with Finale which showed all the hallmarks of a midi driver problem, when in fact the cable had just fallen out of the back of the computer....heheh

Anyway....try reinstalling....cant hurt to try....
