You know what we all REALLY want? The old LucasFilm Adventure Game engines, with more choices for actions.
That''s what we want.
*rolls dice*
Yep, even they say so!

Give me one more medicated peaceful moment..

It's only funny 'till someone gets hurt. And then it's just hilarious.Unless it's you.
YES! We do want Lucas Art Adventures, and they will soon be back with Monkey Island 4! Sierra has already left the adventure scene, they dont know, never did, how to make a good adventure game. Long live Le Chuck!

Well Now,

Ever since the dawn of time people have
been cyring out for more RPG''s. Now they
are everywhere. They are a good mix of story
and gameplay. But I agree with Landfish and
thegoop it has become more of a stereotypical
name now than a genre of game. However fear
not RPG is just a word. RPG''s themselves
now play a role in todays society.

Well, let''s keep rpg as roleplaying game...

And let''s make rgs as roleplaying simulation.

''Simulation'' as in ''it simulates a fantasy world as good as it can''

and

''roleplaying'' as in ''people/players will dive into a character in the simulated world and will live a virtual live there, besides their ''real'' life on Earth''

Start with that to make the next RPS instead of starting out with thinking of how many goblins a player should be able to kill in under a minute

You either believe that within your society more individuals are good than evil, and that by protecting the freedom of individuals within that society you will end up with a society that is as fair as possible, or you believe that within your society more individuals are evil than good, and that by limiting the freedom of individuals within that society you will end up with a society that is as fair as possible.
I like Silvermyst''s idea. Notify the officials!

"What officials?"

Oh. Umm. Who did the comic book world go to to make them "graphic novels?"

A Definition is a group of words that all have definitions themselves. One wonders how we know what anything is. We need definitions to communicate our ideas to eachother, but other than that they really have no role in making a good game. RPG, RPS, FPS, RTS, I don''t care so long as it''s good.

I think the art of designing role playing engines is to consider if your game logics are actually promoting role playing. Most designer forget about this. They put fun before the genre of game they are making and lose track of what they are doing. I'm not saying this is bad but the consequences are that you'll offend people with you blindness.

Really, anyone can make a fun game its not that hard. What is hard is directing your creativness. This is the main problem with designing RPG's.
