I am currently working on a game and I was wondering: Is it at all legal to make a music video with clips from my game using an mp3 that I have of other peoples music? I probably would not be selling the movie, I would just be including it on my website to promote the product. Is this legal or am I gonna have to make my own music for this one? Distributing work which contains the unlicensed work of others is a no-no!

If the music is not by anyone "famous" then try asking them if you can use it.

Even then you still don't have to make your own music because this forum is populated by people desperate to write music for other peoples projects...

I thought John Oswald got away with his plunderphonic stuff on the basis that he wasn''t making profit. Michael Jackson still tried to sue him for defemation of character, though :-)
No, Plunderphonics was an open and shut case of copyright infringement and all unsold copies were destroyed.
