I''m looking into getting my web site up, but I was wondering if it is possible for people to waste away your bandwith (like just to be jerks) so that you have to pay extra for it? Is there anything you can do to prevent something like this? I am planning on signing up with iPowerWeb, which has a pretty big 30 gig of transfer available, and I really don''t want to go over and pay the 2$ per gig they charge after that. Thanks for any help! Mike

Possible? Yes. Likely? I don''t think so, unless you get linked to from slashdot or similar. You should talk with your service and perhaps negotiate a hard limit (fixed maximum) with only a minor fee in the case of attempted overload, enough to cover their maintenance costs and hassle.

For those with their games already online, what is a typical month''s bandwidth? What is a peak month?

The last beta release of my game maxed at about 2000 downloads in two weeks. that''s about 7 gigs. My website only uses about 300-500 mb per month, with about 100-250 visits per day.
