adsl-start probs

I seem to be having problems with adsl-start. It works fine when I''m logged in as root, but when I try to use it as another regular user it just does nothing. It doesn''t return any errors or anything. I do have USERCTL=yes in my config files so I don''t know where the problem is. How are you guys connecting to the internet on your systems? Does anyone know of any general bulletin boards dealing with Linux? Also, I want KDE''s Autostart to execute adsl-start when I log in, but how do I make it so that when I log out adsl-stop is run? Thanks guys, answers to any of these questions would be much appreciated.

what i do is to start the adsl connection at system boot, adding "exec adsl-start" in rc.local, i dont see why to have to start or to stop when you login or logout from kde.
What about adsl-stop? Where should I put that command?
the only thing that adsl-stop does is to kill adsl-connect, and when you reboot or halt your system, it send a kill and a term signal to all processes running, including adsl-connect,so
adsl-stop is not that necessary.
