User input is usually a plus

A man with no head is still a man.
A head with no man is plain freaky.
Spells , spells and more spells. O yes and lots to batter and kill is always a plus, preferably to cast spells on

I think a good RPG must have a good battle system, a good history, a good programmer, a good field system, and so forth. I think the only you do not need to worry about is graphics, sounds and things like this. But if it''s comercial, evrything is needed. If you''re makin'' an RPG, tell me how to and when it''s done. Better, call me to make it too!!!

A good solid story with pleny of sub-plots is always a good idea for a good RPG.

Basically a story that will get you involved. Original type of plot and stuff.

A shit load of secrets (secret doors/walls and such that''ll lead to more secrets like weapons/equipment or yet more secret rooms...etc...)

Not to forget: Some simple, some hard to find.

Hey, Neuro, I agree : the main stuff are story and battle system, not secrets or something. But... I''m not from a english-talking-country, so, what is plot?

Thanks, Arthur(rockslave)

i still stick with user input which no one else mentioned...

a plot is like the basic, bare-bones storyline of the game (or story, etc).
