I''m writing an MSN client. Friends of mine using the uni''s network cant access the MSN dispatch server directly (they have to provide MSN with a proxy server). How would I get my client to do this? My net connection is provided by a computer on the local network (rather than dialing up itself) - I guess this is similar to what happens on the uni''s network - but I dont need to give MSN a proxy server. Why? BTW: I''m very new to networks & network programming - so keep it simple If someone could explain exactly what''s happening with this proxy stuff with MSN (or similar) that''d be a good start Cheers, George.
