Sprites vs Models
Quick question. In the past, sprites have been easier and cheaper to get than 3d models, right? Is that still true? I was thinking of using billboarded sprites for a 3d RPG (see XenoGears, it used that technique). But i''m wondering if it would be worth having someone draw a bunch of sprite animations. Would it be easier to find someone to do models?

if you want to draw all the animations, you really have to DRAW all the animations.
if you use the way of 3d,you only have to model the spite once.and for every animation you simply animate it and render it...
for me it´s the faster way...:-)

it depends on the detail of the character . if you wanted smooth animation i would use modeling but if you want a cartoon effect with a character with exadurated features (eg big nose) and just wanted a simple game i would use sprites . trust me i have dealt with both. it alllllll just depends
