here is a good one. it is a tutorial from modeling a human to animating a human with bones.

Hey, there is definitely nothing wrong with Cinema 4d. Well, as long as you use 8.0. I''m actually doing an independent study animation right now.... and the results are really nice. I''ll be sure to post some of it later..
But any way, yeah, boning is a pain unless you use MOCCA. With MOCCA you''ll get some VERY pleasing results.
Also, whether you use MOCCA or not, download the documentation from their website. The first few chapters give a very good tutorial about boning in general, then they bone an entire human using MOCCA.

I believe that the proper term for what you are looking for is rigging.
