Does anyone have the PS2 linux kit? Is it worth buying? Is gcc 2.95.2 the only compiler available, or is there a build of gcc 3.x that works?

If you want to play around with the ps2 hardware it seems worth it. If you just want to play around with linux its probably not.

The GameCube has a much easier system, although you CANNOT burn any copies of your own work, since it uses Mini-DVD''s.

That''s like saying that because Windows is not free, that you have to pay for everything for it. But in fact, there are plenty of good free programs for Windows, too.

the linux kernel is free. the Sony HDD has security features w/ the linux kernel checks for. So you have to buy the Sony HDD which comes w/ the linux kit.
