So I''ve read the news today and just wanna say that I''ve been away from everything for the past few months... Had some serious business with my MMORPG, so I wasn''t able to have a look at the site (imagine about 325341 emails in about 2 hours just because your server went out of electricty and someone killed the emergency diesel engine by filling about 6 liters of oil into a tank already filled up to the limit...) Maybe there are some others out there who want to post why they''ve not been around lately, so NeHe gets to know...

I''ve been around but not programming as much as I used to. Going into my first year of university (hopefully at waterloo) next september and have been wrapping up scholarships and trying my best in school. But I try to get on at least once a day and check the boards - want to see whats new with the LOTR contest

Hmmm, I spotted something really weird in Nehe''s news. He says "It''s 1am here". However, I live only 4-5 hours from him, and every clock here says 10:24.

I''ve been coming to NeHe for a good 3-4 years, and I think that even a peak of 70 users a day isn''t at all bad :D.

Well, I''m here alot, and I have a holiday now until wednesday, so I get to hang out here even more!

I wasn''t in a blah mood when I made the post. The reason for the post was more or less to get some feedback on the recent tutorial, the new project, the new download, etc.

Just like you guys, I''m supposed to be enjoying a long weekend. I''ve been updating the site non stop for the past 4 days. Some changes not so apparent.

You could call it frustration... something many of you that also runs sites seem to know well. Lots of demand, but never any feedback.

Thanks to those of you that sent email... including the people that said:

COMMENT: The site is dying and will soon be gone, just like others have vanished in the past.

RESPONSE: If it dies, which I don''t see happening, I guess I can always brag that it was a good run... (6 years at gamedev, 2 years at demonews, 2+ years as a private site).

COMMENT: The site has none of the COOL effects that are coming out, that''s why you have no visitors!

RESPONSE: I guess the 100+ contest entries... ALL featuring source code... along with the numerous downloads... most with source code... do not count as cool, because they are not in tutorial format...!?

Either way... have alot of work to do on the site... have some personal projects to work on... and of course... a lot of things to get done around the house.
