Anyone able to give me feedback on the Torque engine?

granat,

sorry I made a typo there (more of a brain-freeze), I meant peer-to-peer and not udp. I remember reading in the initial features list that the engine supports peer-to-peer although the networking model (described in the link on my last post) is definitely server-client and I''ve only seen server-client commands in the code.

Mark,

no problem, it seems like you''ve done some real solid design work for your game and you deserve at least some support. I forgot to mention, you can get a working demo of Torque from http://www.garagegames.com, look for Realm Wars. You can try out the ingame gui editor, terrain editor, and see how all the scripting works (you can effectively mod Realm Wars into your own FPS game).

GameStudio looks pretty impressive, keep the rest of us updated on your progress

One more thing to clear up,

the licensing for the Torque may not be too much of a hassle for you, provided your company or publisher revenues aren''t over $500,000. The latest license allows you to publish the game yourself (no royalties) although for commercial products it may be worthwhile to publish on the GG (for marketing reasons).

Best of luck with your project,

Luigi
