easy dynamics question
I am coding physics simulation in 2d and have some problems with the rigid body dynamics.
I have object A which is, lets say, at coordinates 0,0 and have radius of 5. Object A is circle. If I apply force to point 5, 0 on A and it is pointing to 5, 10, does A get only torque or does it also get linear acceleration?

Is the amount of linear acceleration independent of the amount of torque?
So I could do linear acceleration equations without needing to know the gripping points of the forces?

Yes, linear acceleration of the center of mass is independent of where on the body the force is applied.
