I posted this in the graphics forum, but not very many people visit there. So I''ve decided to move it here where many people visit. I''ve known basic 2D programming for a while now, which basically consists of image manipulation. Now I want to learn something more advanced and I''d like to know what else I could try learning. Demo effects are the only things I can come up with. Anyone have any suggestions?
it sounds like you don''t wanna do 3D, do you?

Because of the simplicity of 2D, most of the ''ooh and aah'' is put into art. If it is somthing fresh you are after, try putting a sideways slant on an allready existing genre. Imagine ''Donkey Kong'' with really good AI, that would really twist my noggin. Or really play with paralax and see what you can cook up. But team up with a really good artist. Right now I''m working with someone on a standard shooter. What I hope to bring is this guy''s art to life, talk about some gross stuff(he and I get sick sometimes if we look at his drawings too long!). But I''m still trying to work out some bugs with my compiler and Direct X. It seem that Borland left out some essencial .lib files that I need to get my COM objects allocated.

Why is it called a hot water heater? Isn't it cold when it goes in the tank?
