Hi! can someone tell how to render an animation to a DVD quality format, do I need some kind of a codec or plug in to render better than an avi format, for example if I''m doing an add for the TV, I''m sure it doesn''t have to be rendered in an avi format. So my question is, what is that format in wich they render those "bring the house down" quality sequence. Thanks in advance!!
DVD uses mpeg2. Most 3d apps won''t render to mpeg2 without a some type of plug-in.

Your best bet is render the animation in an uncompressed format (live the huffy codec or DV codec) and then edit the animation if needed and then render to mpeg2.

Most mpeg2 rendering will require the purchase of licensed product as mpeg2 is patented format.

Good luck.

I agree that rendering to an intermediate format like DV is a good way to go. However, there are some free programs that can convert to mpeg2. One is called TMPGenc or something like that.

TMPGenc is free, but conversion to MPEG2 expires after 30 days. You then have to register(pay) to continue using that feature.

It coverts to MPEG1 all day long.
