Hi, What''s Bit Rate in MP3 or WMA files ? Is it Quality of song ?
Yup - the bitrate shows how many bits are processed each second. For example 192kbit/sec means that 192000 / 8 = 24000 bytes are decoded each second. Naturally, the greater this number is, the better sound quality you''ll get. I''m no expert, but suppose the song is in 16-bit stereo and Mp3 compression ratio is 5 times, then the resulting quality would be 24000 * (5 / 4) = 30kHz, where 4 comes from 2 channels * 2 bytes per sample.
