I am getting a new computer and thinking of the new nVidia GeForce DDR 64MB based graphics card. I would like to know asto how the GeForce DDR 64MB fares in terms of speed and compatibility issues. I assume that it is pretty fast but the compatibility issues.... ? Does anyone have an idea about it and help me out ? Thanks in advance Arun
I have a Creative GeForce DDR 32MB, but I think the compatibility is the same. Personally I haven''t encountered any situation where my card didn''t work. I currently use Win2000 and it works great, I used Win98 SE before that and I had not problems there either.

If it is faster with 64MB than 32MB I couldn''t say. But my guess is that it will only be faster in extreme cases, where there are a huge amount of textures being used in the same frame.

Is there any game or program in particularly that you are worried about not working?

if you always wait for the newest chipsets to come out, you can wait until you get 70 and have a long beard.
the geforce is pretty good for now, not very expensive and enough resources for the next one or two years

Yeah, and get bad driver support. Ati''s suck.
Thanks guys.
Just wanted to make sure that I donot get something bad.

WitchLord,
Thanks for your feedback. I am working on a RTS currently but there is no specific problem with the game. Currently I have a SGI Visual 320 Workstation, but it suck. I have had enough compatibility and graphics driver problem that I decided to get rid of this and get a new machine.

Thanks again

Yeah, the 32 shouldn''t be much different. Only in the future, but by then, your card will be slow as a slug.
