yeah, but a girl?
How many girls can say they''re really interested in programming? I have been learning how to program C++ off and on for a few weeks. I really enjoy it, how many girls can honestly say that? today i wrote a program that functions like a one-time-use calculator. I''m so incredibly proud of myself. it''s the type of pride only my fellow programmers can relate to. "I MADE THAT" so i thought i''d share. that is all. props to any other females out there who enjoy this as much as i do.

Agree with the previous Anonymous Poster. Women who actually have fun working on a computer = Good Thing(tm). Pity I haven''t found any in real life and only about two on the entire internet.
Oh well. I guess I''ll just have to be used to "Heeeey! Get off that stupid computer and pay attention to me!"

From the Immortal Grace Hopper to people like you, Females have been involved in a lot of computer science. Back in the early 60s, their were more females(then today) in Computer Science, because punch card computers were a "female thing", but sadly, because the tendiency to portray computer science is a hackish, man only field, many women have dropped out.
My ex-girlfriend was a great programmer, although she prefered VB to C++, she still programmed in C++ fairly well.
Good luck!

Yeah I would have to agree I haven''t met any girls that like computers. Well in my one class I overheard a group of people (one was a girl) talking about ''hacking'', more like being a script kiddie. They were talking about how it is "so easy" to hack and mentioned sub7. I hate when people talk about stuff like that and act like they are so smart. Actually, now that I think about it I don''t know any other guys in my school that acutally program that much, I know some that are interested in it though.
Congratulations on getting into programming though. I remember a few years back when I started out having that initial "I made it do that" type of feeling. It is also cool when you keep trying to figure something out and then finnally get it to work or understand it.

I would love to meet a girl that likes computers, how ever it''s really hard. The girl that I have found that likes the most and knows stuff it''s just a girl that has nothing to do at home, so she learned how to use the computer and is just the common user, just that she actually spends at least 1 hour daily to chatting and surfing.
Girls simply don''t find the computer interesting..

The only girls that stick out in my mind that know a lot about computers are Megan and Morgan on "The Screen Savers" on TechTV.
